John Nigel (Nige)KEARNEYAt peace now, passed at home aged 68 years. Beloved partner and soul mate of Sue and a doting grandpa to India. End of life service will take place at Chanterlands Crematorium (small chapel) on Thursday 30th June at 12.00. Donations in lieu of flowers will be gratefully received for give.leeds.ac.uk, 100% of your donation to Leeds University will fund vital research and award scholarships to exceptional individuals who may not otherwise have the chance of a university education. Such a special, kind and gentle man who always had time for me and my children. The kids adored you John and were always so excited to spend time with you. Thank you for introducing them to the Beatles, we will treasure the memories of us all singing yellow submarine whilst you played your guitar ❤️ This will always make us smile and think of you. You are so missed and loved.

Such happy memories of our lazy, hazy, undergrad days as student zoologists at Leeds Uni. John’s strong work ethic meant that he was always going to succeed as a scientist. I remember vividly him playing guitar and singing ‘Working class hero is something to be’ and he certainly was. Will miss you.
