So sadly missed. What a greatly talented man you were! You have left so many great legacies (Except golf! )
Jim you were a great friend and will be a great miss in our lives.
Always there to help with a smile and a joke. Someone you could sit and talk to all day and have a great lot of laughs with .
We shared great times together.
Rest in peace my mate x

A lovely, funny man gone too soon. Sending love to all the family.

Having worked for "Northern Gas" for 46 years or so I have worked along side many many people. Most of these I have forgotten in time, but I can clearly remember Jim from our time in Hadrian District office in Cramlington through the early 90's. It was around this time when computers were being rolled out with early spread sheets. Jim was always the go to person when luddites like me couldn't figure these things out. Jim was always smiling and joking when he would fix the issues I presented to him. No matter what the issue was, he never failed to sort it, and never moaned or complained. Its a measure of Jims positive energy and humour that after all these years I remember those years with such fondness, such a wonderful guy to be around making the workplace a happy place. RIP Jim.

had the privilege of knowing Jim for 50 wonderful years, first as my boss, but more importantly as a very special friend.

Jim was one of life’s truly good people. He always took a genuine interest in my family, never forgetting to ask how everyone was and was someone who could simply pop in at any time and always be made welcome.

I will never forget how he took my son and his friend climbing and camping in Scotland, or how honoured I felt when Jim asked me to photograph his wedding to Carol. To be trusted with his own camera made it even more special.

I always admired Jim’s perfectionism and the care he put into everything he created. Whatever he turned his hand to, he wanted it to be just right. He had a wonderful sense of humour, too and could always bring a smile.

Fifty years of friendship leaves so many treasured memories. I will miss him more than words can say, but feel so fortunate to have known him and to have shared so many years of friendship.

Rest peacefully, Jim. You will never be forgotten. Diane x
