To Andy’s mum and family, I am an old friend of Andy’s from Warwick - we went to Venice together. I haven’t seen him for years but have always had an Andy-shaped place in my heart, and always will. I am so so very, very sorry that you have lost him so soon, and grateful that I was able to see his memorial service (only today due to circumstance), even from Spain, where I now live. I particularly want you to know a story from Venice. My mum came to stay and we needed shopping, so Andy took her arm-in-arm and off they went together, chatting the whole time, ‘as if I was just one of the crowd’, she said. I’ve lost count of the number of times she’s mentioned it: he won her heart, just as he won mine, even though he got me addicted to Twin Peaks which scared the life out of me! With loving thoughts to you, wonderful memories and our sincerest sympathy, Sue and Eileen Mullard
