Michael GerardKEENANMR Michael Gerard Keenan (Gerry) of Warwick Street, Church, Accrington, formerly from Feede Mount Pleasant, Co Louth, Ireland passed away on May 12, aged 85.
Gerry was a civil engineer working on roads and construction until he retired. He was a talented landscape gardener, transforming many gardens and gaining lots of close friendships along the way.
Gerry was an active member of both the Pioneer Working Men's Club and Clayton Conservative Club where he liked to catch up with friends. He would often help out others with his ability to fix anything, washing machines becoming his forte.
His time was filled by his ever growing family and entertaining everybody he met with a joke, quip or song.
Gerry was predeceased by his beloved wife Geraldine also from Co Louth. They leave their children Margaret, Gerard, Sean, Sharon, Michelle and Majella, sons and daughters-in-law, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Gerry will repose at Hyndburn Funeral home, Queens Road, Accrington. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at St. Mary's Oswaldtwistle at 11am. Followed by a burial at Dill Hall Cemetery conducted by Fr S. O'Brien.
