Many thanks to The Evening Sentinel, for creating this feature of reflection. I can well remember the 1950's and the people who lived through the post war period. I know many folks would tell us they were the best years of our life, they were years of community when neighbours would knock on for a cup of sugar or tea, the days of looking out for each other.
The days we might all learn from.

I used to play around Madeley Street Silverdale in the 1950's as a child. I remember Dorothy and her beautiful daughter Marguerite. They were wonderful people.
