Mary ColetteKERSHAWMARY Colette Kershaw, of Rugby Avenue, Accrington, passed away on Friday, May 8, aged 77 years.
Known to all as Colette, after leaving school Colette started as a clerk for Burnley Building Society and stayed there throughout her whole working life, whilst it transitioned to National and Provincial, then Abbey National and finally Santander.
After taking early retirement Colette loved to travel and spend time in the sunshine. Having had an apartment in Spain for many years, in more recent times she has visited places far and wide including the Caribbean, Thailand and New Zealand, plus spent many times with her sister and family in Australia.
She was a keen follower of sport, in particular cricket, having recently travelled with the Barmy Army for the Ashes in Australia with her partner Pete. She also enjoyed watching rugby union, tennis, snooker, the Olympics and the Commonwealth games on the TV and spending time at the local bowls.
Colette will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and friends.
Widow of the late Barry Kershaw, daughter of the late Francis Metcalf Robinson and Emma Jane Robinson and a dearly loved mum of Rachel, mother-in-law of Damian, treasured grandma of Nathalie, Danny and Stacey and their partners Joe, Laura and Jacob, and great grandma to Isla, Taylor, Darcie, Leon and Millie.
Also, a dear sister of Anne, sister-in-law of Pat, Bob, Edward, Brian, Yvonne and Pauline and Auntie and Great Auntie to many, including Luke, Andrew, Michael, Taliah and Jake in Australia.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12.20pm, on Wednesday, May 27, at Accrington Crematorium.
