Duncan passed away peacefully at Meadowvale Care Home in Bathgate on 5th October 2023, with his wife Lorna, daughter Gwyneth and son Sean at his side.

Funeral to be held at West Lothian Crematorium on Wednesday 25th October at 12pm.

A great teacher, fondly remembered. It was Mr Kerwin who instilled my interest in science and which led to my career in research. His homemade firework displays will never be forgotten!

I had the privilege of looking after Mr Kerwin when he came to the daycentre in Livingston Braid Health and Wellbeing we had connection especially through music and brass band music.
Sending my deepest condolences to the family.

Mr kerwin was a great teacher with a great relationship with us pupils. He had a laugh with us all especially when he found out my O and H grade chem class kept a list of all his failed experiments in the late 1970s. Met him a few times over the years since and he still remembered us all. He will be missed, one of my favourite teachers.

Mr Kerwin was probably my favourite teacher at Bathgate Academy over 40yrs ago.
Used to enjoy many trips with the Hillwalking club, which he ran as well.
