LucyKIJEWSKIMRS Lucy Kijewski, of Haddon Hall, Buxton - and late of Accrington - passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13, aged 90. Lucy lived in Accrington all her life. Wife of the late Tadeusz (Ted) she will be greatly missed by her three loving daughters Wanda, Anita and Elizabeth, sons-in-law Iain, the late Alan, Nigel, her seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and their families. She was employed for many years in the wages office at Howard and Bullough and later at Findel Stores, and had fond memories of all her colleagues. In her youth she was a keen netball player and cyclist. When she married she enjoyed family holidays to Poland visiting Ted’s relatives. Later she joined a bowling club and went on cruises with her best friend Joan, visiting numerous countries. She was a member of the Clayton-leMoors Mothers’ Club from its inception, where she enjoyed the company of her close friends. A funeral service will be held at 1.40pm on Wednesday, December 30, at Accrington Crematorium, administered by Neil Overton, followed by cremation. Due to the current situation only family and close friends are able to attend but there will be a live video stream should you wish to join us. Please contact a family member for details. Family flowers only please, however should you wish to make a donation, Lucy supported the North West Air Ambulance. These can be passed to the family or to Hyndburn Funeral Service, Queens Road, Accrington.
