I've just been told about Mike's death and wanted to pass on my condolences to his family. He worked for me in The Ministry in Pensions Awards in the early 80s. Such a character. Always retained his lovely Wetheral accent. He could be great fun although he took his work very seriously. I remember how much he loved playing competitive bowls and how much he enjoyed making engine models. I imagine he'll leave a big hole in your lives and that you'll miss him a lot. It always brings a smile to my face when I think of him, ernestly explaining to me how to make a brass wheel. I'm sure your family will have many such lovely memories of Mike. My deepest sympathy to you all on your loss.

Mike was my boss for a while in the early 1980's. I remember his humour and him being a real gentleman. Sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts with Kathy and their family x
