Remembering all the fabulous weekends when we visited Holmfirth …. Whether we were down in Holmfirth visiting some of the local pubs, or going for a long walk on Sunday morning with Alan to get rid of our sore heads … before having a slap up breakfast brunch made by Daisy !!!! Great memories !!! Alan RIP Sally xxxx

Although you may be gone, the memories remain.
The echoing tunnel at Butlins, singing Barnaby the bears my name.
The Sunday walks around Yateholme, in rain or shine or ice.
The Saturday evening bathroom scent, of toothpaste, Brylcream, and Old Spice.

The nights out at the Elephant, although they made you ill.
You'd prove that you weren't getting old, and race me up the hill.
The fishing on a frozen dam, it must've looked quite odd.
You threw a stone to break the ice, so I could test my Christmas rod.

Thank you for the time you gave, that money couldn't buy.
The memories are always there, to cheer me when I cry.
Thank you for the laughter and good times that we had.
But most of all, with all my heart, thank you for being my Dad.
