It's been difficult since you passed and I don't think it's truly sunk in that you're no longer here, but I think of you every day and will always remember you as a good man and an amazing uncle.

Daffodils through snow

Bravery is not something that comes with ease
It is something we must seize
Just like artic poppies
Which turn to face the sun so they don't freeze

Love requires trust
You must trust in those who help you grow
Like a daffodil pushes through snow
Because it knows the sun will catch it

So you let yourself trust when life got scary
You fought even when it seemed impossible and smiled when it seemed unbearable
Even gold must be put through fire to become pure

you pushed through the snow
so you should rest now
as it is our turn to be brave
Our turn to fight when it seems impossible
and smile when it seems unbearable

It is hard to be brave for someone when they are far away
So I carry you in my heart, my breath, my mind
you are closer now, no longer a walk or drive away
because now I know, you are here with me everyday
So the next time I see a brave daffodil, it shall remind me of you
Because you never stopped, like a daffodil pushing through the snow

You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

Mike, as I sit here trying to find the right words to say I am in tears. Everyday has been tough since you passed away. You were always great with Abigail and Daniel and always made them laugh and joke around even if it would end up getting them in trouble. The funny stories you tell them or them helping you with your jobs around the B&B they loved spending time with you. You would give me and Chris so much advice and help which we always appreciated. It's so strange to think now that we can't do that. You helped shape Chris to the man he is today. You have taught me loads too about myself and will forever be greatful. You may not of been family by blood or name but to us you was family, we all loved you very much and we will miss you. You will always live on in our hearts and thoughts.
Love you Mike

I think of you every day Mike, and I miss you a lot. Tomorrow I’m reading a poem I wrote for you, it’s called Daffodils through snow.
I hope you enjoy it.
We all love you so much, you were the best Uncle and I will cherish all the memories we have made.
Love,
Molly

Remembering you Mike, remembering the good times, the fun times, your wicked sense of humour and your kindness, always there for everyone, this is what we will miss.

It was a huge shock when you lost your battle, we all prayed you would be here with us for as long as possible, we are all heart broken that it was not meant to be. We will remember you, talk about you often, talk about the good times and this way, you will never be forgotten xx Forever grateful to have known you, for all your help through the years, R.I.P Mike, god bless x
