David AlanLACEYRetired P.E. Teacher of Biddulph High School

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of David Alan Lacey. Dave, aged 74 years, passed away in the comfort of his own home in Biddulph on Thursday 25th June 2026. He is survived by his devoted and loved wife Carol, son Martyn and daughter Jenny. Dave was also a respected father-in-law, cherished and loved grandad, dear brother and uncle.

His devotion and passion for teaching, his brilliant sense of humour and kindness will be remembered by all of his family, friends, former colleagues and students. He will be sadly missed but most definitely not forgotten.

A Service to Celebrate Dave's Life will take place at Carmountside Crematorium on Wednesday 22nd July at 11:00am.

Would all family and friends wishing to attend kindly meet at the crematorium chapel. He was a proud Liverpudlian and as a nod to his favourite football team, Everton F.C., please wear an item of blue if possible.

Family flowers only please. Any kind donations in lieu of flowers will be forwarded to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice and Sepsis U.K.

I first met Dave on the 16th of July 1972 the day after I married Carol's sister June.
It took approximately 12 months before we gelled into the best of friends. Our friendship evolved around humour, cricket, fishing, family holidays and dinner parties.
I will never forget how you would stop whatever you were doing if I needed help with anything. My list is endless.
I feel privileged to have been friends with Dave for the last 54 years. Alan
