CatherineLANGANPassed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, July 26. Catherine was loved dearly beyond measure, and leaves behind husband Michael, son John, daughter Jennifer, daughter-in-law Sue, son-in-law Ben, her grandchildren Emily, Eric, Henry and Ted, and brothers Stephen and Gordon. Her passion in life was her family, her time was spent travelling with Michael to South Africa, their once home, the far East, and the USA, with her grandchildren on the beaches of Crete and back at home. Catherine spent most of her career in local government, working in all areas of Rossendale, finishing her career at Bolton at home. At work and at home Catherine was always caring and thinking of others. She was a member of Rossendale Ladies’ Choir and a governor at St Peter’s School, Newchurch. A caring neighbour and wonderful friend, Catherine loved music, cooking, baking and walking. Catherine will be remembered as a kind, caring lady, with a beautiful smile who found happiness and laughter in everything. There will be a Requiem Mass at St Peter’s, Newchurch at 12noon on Friday, August 5. Catherine will be laid to rest at Rawtenstall Cemetery at 1.15pm. A celebration of her life will be held at Rossendale Rugby Club from 2pm - all welcome to all or part of the day. Family flowers only; donations to the Christie Hospital, Manchester. Mike and all the family, so sorry to hear this. Catherine was my soulmate at choir we had such a laugh. Really enjoyed her company there after being friends many years ago at primary school. Sending our deepest condolences.
