Richard ArmstrongLANT(Byker born and bred, before moving to High Heaton) Passed away peacefully in the RVI on Thursday 30th December, aged 88, and 67 years of marriage to his beloved and devoted wife Mary. He was 'top banana' and had a wonderful life and maintained his positive outlook right to the end. He had a big impact on the lives of many and will be missed, but not forgotten. He loved and was loved by his family: his wife Mary, three sons and their wives, nine grandchildren, brother, sister, nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and his auntie Frankie. The funeral will take place at the West Road Crematorium on Thursday 13th January at 1:30pm, followed by a wake at the P.T.E. Club, Millers Road, Byker, NE6 2XP. Dick did not want anyone to be sad at his funeral so please come prepared to remember the good times and have good craic, and could you please wear something colourful (eg. colourful tie). No flowers please and there will be a collection for a good cause on the day. The funeral service will also be live streamed. W.S. Harrison & Son Shields Road Byker Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 2UD Tel: 0191 2655415

Granda, it is hard to put into words everything you have done for me and how much you are loved. I won’t forget the countless places we have been to together. You will be missed. And always, I love you 542 times.

Uncle Dick. A genuine and decent man who lived a honest and full life. Never shy of hard work and a master of his trade. So many happy and precious memories that will never be forgotten.

Incredibly sad news. Dicky was a lovely man and was a big supporter of local darts. The kindness and support I got from him is something i'll never forget.

Wishing his family all the best at this sad time.

So sad to hear the news about Dick
He was certainly a character with a strong hand shake that I remember so clearly when I was a kid visiting your house with all his darts trophies hanging from the living room wall
Sincere condolences to Mary - Richard Stephen and David and all the family
Take care all, look after yourselves Rob May - and my mum June
