EricLARKHAM(Newcastle upon Tyne). Peacefully on Wednesday 20th April 2016, aged 67 years, Eric, beloved husband of Sally, dad of Peter and Susan, grandad of Harrison, Rosie, Matilda and Hugh, brother of Dennis and David. Would family and friends please meet at St. Ann's Church, City Road, Battlefield on Wednesday 4th May at 12.30pm, followed by interment at Jesmond Old Cemetery at 1.30pm. No flowers please, donations if so desired to Macmillan Nurses.

I've only just learned of Eric's passing and the news came as a shock as he seemed to be one of those who'd live forever.

Among his many qualities was his ability to pickle onions, the strength of which required more than a few pints to soften! Bless you Eric

I remember Eric from Rutherford Grammar School where we were in the same form. Eric was a quiet lad, steady, loved Science, slow methodical walk. seemed to be a hard worker and studious. I believe he lived in Benwell in those days.

I worked with Eric for many years at Vickers he was a fantastic bloke and one of the most intelligent men I have ever met, we had lots of laughs and Vickers MED dept owe him a huge debt for all his work. Mick Gibson

Very sad to hear this news. Our trips to Ouseburn won't be the same again, knowing we aren't going to bump into Eric, and share a cheery real ale tale or two. Fondly remembered by Barry and Amanda.
