Betty, you were such a special aunty, and a force to be reckoned with.
Your hard, no-nonsense exterior always melted for me, replaced by a warm smile and a massive hug - especially when I showed up with a packet of ciggies, a trifle, or both!!!
I'm grateful for every minute we shared. I love you and will never forget you.

Just shy of ninety years, a life well-played,
Our Betty, sharp and stubborn, unafraid.
She pushed our patience, tested every line,
With wit and politics, her fierce light did shine.
The debates are over, the spirit flies free,
