In Memoriam for Margaret Joyce (Sweetlady) LAUDAT (Mccudden)

Hello Beautiful Mother: “Love You💙, Love You,💙, Love You💙 Mum🫶🏽💒✨”
You found dinosaurs and ancient marine reptiles fascinating and you used to love beach-combing & hunting for fossils!
I wish you’d been with me today as it seems prehistoric Nessie the Plesiosaur(?) decided to extend its soirée in Loch Ness and pay us delighted pareidolia enthusiasts in Clifton Village a ‘flying visit’. Of course it’s actually the remnants of the tragically felled phenomenal tree that is featured before it was logged & removed, on Dad’s ( a consummate dendrophile) memoriam page. Missing you LoveHeart Mummy ; can’t wait to see you again, this time in God’s Kingdom of Heaven, Hallelujah!💒

“Spring and Fall” Gerard Manley Hopkins

to a young child

Margaret, are you grieving
Over Goldengrove unleaving?
Leaves, like the things of man, you
With your fresh thoughts care for, can you?
Ah! as the heart grows older
It will come to such sights colder
By and by, nor spare a sigh
Though worlds of wanwood leaf meal lie;
And yet you will weep and know why.
Now no matter, child, the name:
Sorrow’s springs are the same.
Nor mouth had, no nor mind, expressed
What heart heard of ghost guessed:
It is the blight man was born for,
It is Margaret you mourn for.
