Mr Launder , Ken was my primary school teacher . He started Old Priory Model Railway Club.
A great hour 15:30 -1630 Friday afternoon. In 1986 we entered Tamar Valley Schools competition. We took a trip on a class 117 DMU to Calstock to photo and draw the Viaduct.
When we returned we made it ( not to scale ) And we learnt the wonders of Evo stick . We won £50 🏆 2nd prize that went towards foldable staging .
Year Six we built out first layout.
One afternoon when the class was in PE , and Ken was beasting my fellow pupils. Anthony Daw , James Yeoman & Martin Hole, and I was detailed to build a paper mashy tunnel for Clubs Railway . We furnished the last layer with 80's page 3 models. I remember Ken saw the humour 🤣. A real great person and someone I looked up too . I would attend funeral, unfortunately I'm a designer in lego world and I'm at Tankfest on the day ...
To Family and friends , sympathy for your loss the night sky has a new star.... I've many memories to share .... Ken was a great Teacher and steered me straight.... rest easy friend 🧡
