Janet was the most lovely, cheerful and compassionate lady.
I spent all my childhood days in Malaysia with Janet and the Laxton family. I have such fond memories of our endless lovely weekends, holidays and Christmas celebrations together.
Janet was extremely caring and always had a real interest in what everyone was up to, and she will sorely missed.
May she rest in peace.

Janet was a wonderful person. Kind, inclusive and accepting, I have very happy memories of sitting in her and J-P’s fantastic garden, eating amazing food, a glass of wine in hand. It is a rare gift to make someone feel immediately at home but the welcome we always received simply could not have been warmer or more generous. Many happy memories. Sending deepest sympathies to Chris, Richard and their families.

Janet was always extremely kind and generous to me when I stayed for weekends out from school, and again when I had a fantastic holiday with the family in KL. She was very thoughtful and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Dearest Janet, with John you are and have always been a massive positive influence in my life. Legendary was your kindness tolerance and inclusivity. Some of the best times of my life have been with the two of you and Chris whether that was in KL, in Rickney, in Bristol. Whenever you all were there was much laughter and always a lot of Vouvray. Your cooking recipes survive you in my 1985 diary and remain in use. Tonight I'm making your Ikan Molek and will think of you - as I do often. I don't know how I have never sliced my hand open bashing those lemongrass stalks with the back of a knife... Thankyou Janet - for everything and most of all for being you: love and sympathy to Chris and Richard x
