John AnthonyLEDSHAMPeacefully after a short illness, surrounded by love. Much loved brother and uncle, dad, pops, grandad and great grandad. Also a friend to many. Reunited with his mum and dad. Funeral to take place at Mount Carmel Church on Friday 4th March at 12 noon. Burial at Allerton Cemetery afterwards. All welcome. Our hearts are broken, but you are at peace xxx YNWA xxx

Oh no. I have only just seen this. Me and John were great mates in the the mid 60s and went to the Cavern, The Sink and the Twisted Wheel together many times. We even briefly shared a flat in Salford. We did meet up a few times over the later years and I could tell some great stories about those meetings. The last time I saw him was at least 10 years ago but we lost touch again.. I knew he was living on the Wirral but didn't know where. I did search occasionally on the net but with nothing until now. I only spoke about him 2 days ago to my friend Peter Hesketh who now lives in Perth WA. R.I.P John my old mate.xx

I was John's girlfriend when I was sixteen we went every weekend to the twisted wheel in Manchester and he moved into a flat in Bolton where I came from so he could be near me what a great guy I never forgot him RIP love Phyl x
