JohnLEEEldest son of the late Rene and Frank Lee of North Shields. Passed away at home at Westerness, Stenness, Orkney on Thursday 1st April 2021, aged 79, after a long illness. Beloved husband of Anne, much loved dad of Melanie and Trevor, proud gagga of Jamie, Sandy and Ross, dad-in-law of Derek and Alison, brother of Lorraine and David, brother-in-law of Terry and Joan. John will be sorely missed by family and his numerous friends.

I am sorry to hear that you have scarpered! I don’t know if I was always amusing to you but you were ever kind with jibes, leg pulling and patiently explaining yet another joke that had taken me unawares. You never gave me cause to think that you were anything other than what it said on your tin. Rare and valuable, I don’t recall being ill at ease in your company nor did I see others anything but relaxed around you.
I shall miss you quietly from this island in The Pacific but now as hoo ye cannae answer back I’ll be talking with you when I remember friends, aye-ya-wey ya big scunner, that ah wil.
