Ian was very kind to me and gave me time when I needed it most. I’ve never forgotten, and while I’m sad at his passing, his faith will endure. My thoughts and prayers are with his family who also was very kind to me. Xxx

Just a wonderful man and elder who cared about everyone and had a great sense of humour, always made us all smile. Made time to chat with everyone and was well loved. I was able to work with him recently on the ministry, and we had a great time, so easy to talk too. He loved his family very much and was proud of you all. And of course we talked about Aston Villa just a little bit.
Thinking of all the family especially
Janet, Gemma, Isaac and Zara and all the other sons & daughter & grandchildren x x x x

When people say, " they don't make em like that, any more " . They mean people like Ian, a very rare kind of person. When my father needed lifts to Hull for his dialysis, he was the first to volunteer. That's just the kind of guy he is. We'd often put the world to rights in them car journey's of which I'm eternally grateful for.
He travelled many a place, making friends wherever he'd go just because of the kind, likable gentleman he is.

From Jim Howson , and Joy Howson , to Ian , Janet and all his lovely family , lots of Christian love ❤️

Grandad was one of a kind. A sweet incredible soul that lit up any room he walked into. He was a kind compassionate sweet man that this world needed. An incredible person so many words cannot describe. I miss you so much granddad

We knew Ian for only a short time but we took him to our hearts, he was a warm and caring elder who shared readily with all. He was funny but was also serious in the matters of faith and love for our creator. We like many know we will see him again.
Our sincere condolences are with Janet,Gemma, Isaac, Zara, and family.
