DavidLEWISSadly passed away at home on Thursday 4th May aged 93 After living through the London Blitz during World War 2 and subsequently serving in the Royal Air Force during the Berlin Airlift in 1948-1949, David worked in Banking for nearly 50 years, initially for Chase Manhattan Bank in London before managing the bank's offices in Nassau Bahamas and Jersey, followed by leading a smaller UK bank prior to retirement. He also served as a chair of the Sevenoaks Conservative Association, chair of the Sevenoaks Supper Club and President of the Sevenoaks Catenian Association, along with commitments to various other local clubs, associations and boards. David was an extremely loving husband and father and to all who knew and met him, he was a true gentleman with a wonderful dry sense of humour and a warm heart. David was much loved by his wife of nearly seventy years, Patricia, his sons Philip and Robert and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at St Thomas of Canterbury RC Church, Sevenoaks on Thursday 15th June at 12pm followed by a Cremation at Bluebell Cemetery at 1.45pm.
