Fred WalterLEWISPassed away peacefully on Monday 30th October 2023, after a short illness, aged 84 years.

Loving husband of 63 years to Jan, father to Dean, Joanne, Mark and Victoria, in law to David, Amanda and JP, Grandad to Joe, Jessica, Annabelle, James, George, Megan, Harrison and Sunny. Great Grandpa to Vera, Arabella, Peggy, Bronte and Freddie, loving younger brother to Maureen.

Everyone who knew Fred would describe him as "the nicest man ever" or "a true gentleman". He was such a kind and wonderful person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He worked in the Hull Fruit Trade for 69 years, mostly as a Haulage Contractor, trading as Lewis of Hull. He enjoyed playing snooker with his friends at Willerby and Kirk Ella Social Club and attending all the home games for Hull City with his son Dean. His absence will leave a hole in our hearts forever, but we are truly thankful that he was such a huge part of our lives.

Funeral service to be held on Tuesday 21st November 2023 at Haltemprice Crematorium at 3:30pm. All family and friends are welcome afterwards for reflections and refreshments at the Willerby and Kirk Ella Social Club, Willerby.

No flowers please but donations are welcome at the service or online for WISHH (Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals).

My lovely kind gentle younger brother i am finding it so hard to believe you have come to the end of your long journey through life. we shared so many memories , memories that along with you are locked away in my heart forever.we had so much fun growing up together , we laughed we shared we fort played endlessly , had so much fun and that's what being a brother and sister is all about. you had so many amazing qualities Fred but kindness was always my favourite , and that showed in all the friends you have and how much everyone loves you. you will never be far away you will always be seen in your loving children grandchildren and great grandchildren . you and Jan even managed to get a letter of congratulations from the Queen for being married sixty years ,wow what an achievement so proud of you both . It is far from easy to smile when your heart is full of sadness , but when i think of you now as being a bright star shining down on the people you love , as we love you so dearly , i look to the sky and i smile ,sweet dreams my lovely brother Freddie i love you xxxx

Dad, I am still in disbelief that you are not here but I hold all of our memories close to my heart. I was your mini-me. Everywhere you went, I wanted to go with you as a kid. You were always my hero, so strong and protective. You gave me a lifetime of memories for which I am truly grateful. You made life exciting and gave me every opportunity to be whoever I wanted to be and I cannot thank you enough. I love you Dad. Until we meet again.....Vicky xxx
