Someone asked me if i was feeling better yet.
And i smiled because what else can you do.
But better is not the right word.
Better implies something was wrong with me.
I am not sick, I am not broken.
I am a mother who outlived her child and i am
learning to carry something that was never meant
to be carried,
That is not better or worse
That is just survival.
