DavidLINGARDSadly on 28th August 2023, whilst in the dedicated care of Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby, David aged 88 years passed peacefully away after a long illness.

The devoted husband of Brenda, loving father of Simon, Iain, Michael and Mark, dear father in law to Emma, cherished grandfather of Natasha, Melissa, Anna and Archie. Beloved brother of Arnold and brother in law to Karen. Uncle and a good friend to many.

A service to celebrate David's life will take place at Grimsby Crematorium on Tuesday 26th September 2023, at 12.45pm.

Family flowers only please, by request. Donations in lieu of floral tributes, made payable to 'Macmillan Cancer Support' or 'The Ark Animal Rescue' may be sent to

My thoughts go out to my family especially my Mum.
I am delighted with the charities chosen as they are perfect for my Dad and would be very close to his heart.
I have been so fortunate to have such an intelligent and kind Father.Dad you were the cleverest man I'd ever met, I shall miss the phone a friend function you provided, I just hope Google can live up to expectations. I have lovely memories to treasure and am grateful for the conversations we have had over the years.
Dad you will be so missed.

Our sincere condolences to Brenda, Simon, Iain, Michael and Mark on the passing of this wonderful, kind hearted man. He was always there for anyone that needed help. A good friend to my Mum and Dad (Sheila & Eric) and was always there for Mum when she moved back to Humberstone after Dads death. Thankyou, David for being you and for allowing our family into your lives. RIP.
