Elizabeth MargaretLIVESEYof Oswaldtwistle passed away peacefully at East Lancashire Hospice surrounded by her loving family on September 18, aged 82 years.

The devoted and loving wife of the late Stuart, dear partner of the late Jack, loving and loved mum of Kevin, Elaine and Leslie, step-mum of Neil and Paula, cherished grandma of Antony, Matthew, Georgina, Sophie, Howard, Greg, Jack, Will, Emily, Thomas, Harry, Charlie and Frazer, great-grandma, sister, special friend to Lisa and Harriet and a loyal relative and friend to many.

Betty began her working life as a weaver in the mills before working as an auxiliary nurse. Following becoming a mum, Betty found work at Hollands Pies on the housewife shift enabling her to combine the two roles perfectly. She later opened her own steak bar in Oswaldtwistle before taking on the role of Landlady at The Game Cock, Betty finally took retirement from her position at Rist Wires. Betty was a social butterfly and she loved to be out and about with friends enjoying a drink whilst putting the world to rights and she was a regular face in the Canine and Brooks Clubs. Wherever she went, Betty would be dressed to impress in one of her twinkly outfits with her hair and makeup perfectly applied. She adored Benidorm and over the years Betty enjoyed some of the most amazing holidays, creating wonderful memories with family and friends. She was the most doting family lady with each member holding a special place in her heart and she would always find an excuse to spoil her grandchildren with love and treats. Betty will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Betty’s funeral service will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, September 29 at 3pm. Please wear your party clothes as you are invited to join the family afterwards to honour Betty’s wishes and attend her party.

Family flowers only please, donations can be made in Betty’s memory on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice c/o champfunerals.com/ obituaries
