Cecelia JeanLOFTUSCecelia Jean Loftus, known as Jean, formerly of Park Road, Waterfoot, died in The Laurels Care Home, Bacup on Monday, April 10, aged 84 years. Requiem mass will be held at St Joseph’s and St Peter’s RC Church, Newchurch on Wednesday, April 26 at 11.30am, followed by cremation at Burnley crematorium at 1pm, conducted by Father Simon Stamp. Born in Rossendale, Jean had lived in Waterfoot all of her life. She was employed as a teacher at St Peter’s RC Primary School in Newchurch for the whole of her working life. She enjoyed holidays abroad and eating out but was happiest when surrounded by her loving family. Widow of the late Michael, who died in January 2023 after over 60 years of marriage, she leaves daughters Michelle and her husband Dave, Debbie and her husband Tim, Tracy and her husband Phillip, grandchildren Barney, Carrie, Josh, Jack, Lilliegh and Celsie, five great-grandsons and many friends.
