Super pleased to let you know that, in the Birtley Crematorium Book of Remembrance, we have published an entry for our Dad, Mr Ian Jamieson Logan.

Embossed with the Logan Clan coat of Arms it reads:

"O flower of Scotland"

Or you can go to Birtley Crem on the 16th November every year (0830 to 1545) and see the book entry in person.

As a family we will be going this year on Saturday 16th November 2024 at Midday, you are more than welcome to join us and maybe for a celebration drink afterwards.

Gone yes, forgotten....no.

We now have a digital recording of my dads funeral at Birtley crematorium. You can listen to the Eulogy, sing Abide with me and hear the pipes play the Rowan Tree in the committal. You can sing the Lord is my Shepherd & listen to the Minstrel Boy as we leave my Dad.. Whilst we can't upload the video here, should you wish to receive a copy, please drop me a line at Stewartlogan@Hotmail.com.

My dads wishes were for his ashes to be taken home to Scotland.

We considered Granton, Edinburgh (particularly Granton Terrace) where he lived as a young man; we also considered Arthurs Seat, so he could view the whole of Edinburgh and we considered the Forth Road bridge, which my dad did have a love for. We then thought, what would my dad do...

..and we concluded he would go to Carter Bar, a place he has passed thro, stopped at & spent time lamenting with many (including other pipers) all his life.

The picture you see of my dads ashes in another tribute was taken in the parking place on the A68 (southbound) looking towards Kelso.

He seemed happy to go....!!

That said, we will be back there to see him on 16th November every year...

RIP IJL
