Jane MaryLOMAXIt is with great sadness that the family of Jane Mary Lomax announces her passing. Jane died peacefully on Saturday, 13th January at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice. Jane will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Philip and daughters Harriet and Rebecca. Jane was born in Taunton to Dick and Barbara Ferriday, spending much of her childhood growing up in Tilehurst, Reading with her siblings Richard, Judy and Elizabeth. It was here she met her husband Philip and they started their lives together. Jane has lived in Windlesham for 28 years and will be fondly remembered by many children and families locally, for her warmth of friendship, care and support in and beyond Valley End Infant School where she worked as a teaching assistant. She spent many years as a member of The Gordon's Singers choir and greatly enjoyed participating in their concerts. A thanksgiving service in memory of Jane will be held at St. John the Baptist's Church, Windlesham at 1.30pm on Friday 2nd February. The family would welcome anyone wanting to join them in remembering Jane and celebrating her life. For those wishing to, the family are inviting charitable donations in lieu of flowers, to commemorate Jane in support of the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice care of Lodge Brothers, Lightwater.

So sad to belatedly hear this news. Like Helen I have many happy and fond memories of our times spent at Kendrick and “by the river”. Jane was always my most cheerful and happy friend!

Thanks to Tessa Flatman for letting me know. I am so sorry to share (belatedly) such loss of our lovely friend, Jane Lomax. I was privileged to attend school at Kendrick Girls' Grammar School, Reading where I first met Jane. We also enjoyed time camping by the River Thames and making many friends, including Phil and friends. We spent many weekends together and I attended their wedding. The memories are so rich! May Jane rest in peace and know that we will one day join her.

Sophie Hare Mrs Lomax was a phenomenal teacher. She made our daughters Year 1 at Valley End absolutely brilliant and was always so kind and thoughtful. Our daughter adored her. Rest in Peace xx

I will remember Mrs Lomax with great fondness. All three of my children were lucky enough to have known her during their time at Valley End Infant School. Siobhán, Ava, Gethin & Tilly
