Rose EleanorLONGMANdied peacefully on 14 August after a day at the beach in Cornwall. Beloved mother, sister, grand and great-grandmother, fount of joy to family and friends and inspiration to all. Devoted wife and carer of the late Revd Ted Longman.

Funeral at St Peter and St Paul's Church, Shepton Mallet at 12 noon on Wednesday, 4 September.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Christian Aid.

What a joy it was to be in Rose's company! Her faith was an inspiration. The contribution she and Ted made to the work of Marriage Encounter was wonderful and their hospitality to the National Board meetings much appreciated. A lasting image of Rose is of her in the garden with a trug on her arm. When the splendid snowdrops were admired she promptly dug up some plants. We have transplanted them twice in house moves and each spring their flowering bring Rose to mind.
