MichaelLORDMr Michael Lord, of Queens Road, Accrington died on Monday, July 20, aged 84. He worked for many years as a Brass Turner at Allspeeds Engineering, Clayton-le-Moors. Michael was a lifelong member of St Joseph’s RC Church, Accrington and an active member of both the Knights of Columba and The St Vincent de Paul Society. He was a great rambler, leading many walks from his works. He loved the Lake District and walked its many fells and mountains. Along with his wife Mary he enjoyed many holidays abroad – his favourite place being Rome. Michael was the devoted husband of Mary, much loved brother of Mary and Bernard and the late John and Joseph, also a dear brother-in-law and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. May he Rest in Peace. A Requiem Mass was celebrated for Michael on Wednesday, July 29 at St Joseph’s R C Church, Accrington. The minister was Fr Simon Stamp and afterwards an interment took place at Accrington Cemetery. Donations if desired to The Walsingham Trust c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Queens Road, Accrington.
