I had the pleasure of working with Jean when we worked with the children from the inner city London schools for the charity Children's Country Holiday Fund. She was a force of nature !
The hundreds of children and volunteers over the years absolutely loved her .
She was caring and funny , such an incredible ,unique ( so messy ! ) amazing person, doing things her way . She has made a difference to the lives of hundreds of children , here in UK as well as well as US . It broke her heart to leave US and all those girl scouts , but she gave it her all with the children who needed her here . She was a great leader for the volunteers , who came back again and again , due entirely for the desire to work with her . The staff in every department of the charity absolute loved her , she made us laugh every day .
We even had a special tea at the palace where she had us in stitches while we were supposed to behave .
When she became ill, she took the news bravely , with humour and positivity. We were sad when she decided to go home , to live back with her family who meant everything to her .
We are all the richer for knowing her , god bless dear Jean
