George AlexanderMACDONALDGreat Ayton Died peacefully in the Friarage Hospital on September 15, after a short illness, and previously cared for at James Cook University Hospital. George, aged 93 years, of Great Ayton, was a linguist and worked for British Steel Corporation at Ladgate Lane, Marton, and Grangetown, Middlesbrough. Earlier career with BSC in Motherwell, Scotland. Also a nature conservationist and volunteer with the Cleveland Wildlife Trust, now Tees Valley Wildlife Trust. Husband of Irene and father of George, Niall and Robbie, father in law of Paulette and Catherine, and grandfather of Naomi, Sadhbh, Myles and Maceo. Brother of Kenneth MacDonald and the late Ian MacDonald of Inverness, Scotland. A service of thanksgiving to take place on Thursday 30 September at 2.15pm in the Methodist Church, Great Ayton. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Tees Valley Wildlife Trust and Friends of the Friarage. Resting at and all enquiries to Rea Funeral Service Great Ayton 01642 724796
