John CameronMACKENZIEProfessor J. Cameron MacKenzie, born February 7th, 1938, Lenzie. Died after a brief illness, August 30th, 2026, Muthill, Perthshire, where he had lived for more than 25 years.

Cameron grew up in Balfron, attended Gordonstoun, the University of Dundee and the University of Edinburgh, and served in the Royal Marines. A painter and avid angler, he taught philosophy for many years at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada before returning home to live in Scotland after retiring.

Cameron leaves in mourning Jean, née Macaulay, his dear wife of sixty years, his daughter Ellen and sons Duncan and Ewan, daughters-in-law Marissa and Aimee, granddaughters Fiona and Tessa and grandsons James and Julien. He is also missed by his brothers David and Hector, nieces Corinne and Mhairi and nephews Colin and Iain.

In remembrance of Cameron, a funeral service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, Muthill on Friday September 25th at 12:30 pm followed by a reception in Crieff.
