I have only recently come across Lesley’s obituary after these many years.
I first met Lesley (at the time Andrews) at a pre-Christmas party in North London, held by one of my future colleagues at the Chase Manhattan Bank, in 1977. We talked all evening about music. She was a talented singer and guitarist and I had been playing guitar in bands since I was 14. She was a beautiful person both inside and out with a very laid-back attitude. We started seeing each other every weekend as I lived in Herne Bay, Kent and she in Guildford, Surrey. A lot of miles got clocked on the car and no M25 in those days! We soon fell in love and got even to discussing being together permanently; she opting to move to Herne Bay rather than me to Guildford. Things progressed further by her talking to one of my family members, who was a solicitor, about divorce. Sadly, soon after that she was forced to give me up but she couldn’t say why, and was frightened all the time we were talking. I never saw her again and missed her all the time. If anyone who knew her has any information on why we had to part, please email me on rog_davis@hotmail.com and it will give me some sort of, and I hate using this word, “closure”.
RIP Lesley my love.
