KenMADENKen was born on September 8, 1936, to the late James and Jane Anne Maden. He met his one true love and soulmate June, whilst working at Duckworth Hall Mill, Oswaldtwistle. Later they married and in 1965 their only child Mark was born. Ken had various jobs during his working life. After completing his National Service, he worked at Platts in Accrington for 10 years on nights, and for the last 20 years of his working life he worked with June and Mark at Littlewoods, Brookside, Oswaldtwistle. Ken was a keen Blackburn Rovers fan, and he was season ticket holder with his son Mark when they won the 1994/95 Premier League title. Ken had a keen interest in all things relating to World War II, and would love nothing more than to be engrossed in conversations about the subject. He enjoyed creating memories with holidays abroad with June and family visiting Italy and Tenerife. Ken was devoted to his late wife June, a loving dad to Mark and father-in-law to Margaret, sadly missed grandad to Gemma and Scott and a cherished great-grandad to Declan, Scarlett and Ava. He was also a sadly missed uncle. Service and cremation will be held at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, September 26 at 9.40am. Funeral director: Oswaldtwistle Funeral Services.
