WilfredMALCOLMMr Wilfred Malcolm, of Mapleford Nursing Home, Accrington, died on Thursday, November 26, aged 89. Wilf, as he was known, started his working life at GEC Clayton-le-Moors as an engineer. He later went on to Nelson College to train as a hairdresser. He then moved to Leicester to continue his hairdressing for a number of years. He then had a change of career and spent some time working at Butlins, which in turn led to an opportunity for him to work on cruise ships. He later returned to Accrington and took up employment at Lupton Bros in the town, where he remained up to his retirement. Wilf was a member of the Baxenden Walking Club. He was also a keen dancer and an avid reader, regularly visiting his local library in Accrington. Wilf was the husband of the late Brenda. He was also brother of the late Alfred, Leonard, William, Edward, Mary, and Joan. The funeral was held on Wednesday, December 9, at Accrington Crematorium, led by Fr Simon Stamp.
