HarryMARCONPeacefully in hospital with his beloved Susan at his side on Monday, February 22, Mr Harry Wesley Marcon, aged 92, of Accrington. The devoted and loved partner of Susan, loving father of Stephen, dear father-in-law of Anne, cherished grandfather of Chris and Catherine, Andrew and Cara and Philip, and a respected uncle to Ken and Theresa. Harry started his working life as a painter and decorator in Waterfoot. He then worked for Porter’s of Accrington before forming his own company with his business partner. Marcon and Russell became a well respected local company. He was married to Dorry for many happy years before she sadly passed away, but found joy and happiness again in later life as a partner and beloved friend to Sue. They enjoyed quality time together with many shared interests. Harry was a keen golfer and loved watching most sports. Harry enjoyed every type of music - particularly Classical, Jazz and Country and Western - and more recently Rod Stewart and Josh Groban. Harry liked nothing more than to sit quietly in the evening, watching sport and the TV and enjoying a tot of Whiskey. Harry loved spending time with his family, his son Stephen and his daughter-in-law Anne, he adored his three grandsons - ‘the boys’ as he called them, he also enjoyed the company of his nephew and niece, Ken and Theresa, Sue’s family and his many friends. Harry will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Donations are being received in memory of Harry on behalf of The Stroke Association.
