Eric Walter MbeMARRIOTTEric sadly passed away on 5th June at the grand age of 100. A true Gentleman and ever loving husband of the late Mary and much loved Dad, Granddad and Great Grandad to Dale, Shaun, Sarah and Alex. Eric will be greatly missed by all his family and many Dancing friends. His life's work is now complete and is reunited with Mary once again. The family would like to thank the Marwood residential home in Shepshed for their excellent care during his 18 month stay with them. His Funeral service will be held at Loughborough Crematorium on Friday 7th July at 3.30pm. Donations if desired to go to Marie Curie and any enquiries to Shepshed Coop Funeral Service, 31a Belton Street, Shepshed. 01509 503234

As part of 2M company, I worked as a carer for Eric. Every time i went into his house was with pleasure because he always had a big smile and a joke ready for us. When I found out that you passed away, it was a shock because in my eyes you were immortal, Eric! But I am sure you are happy now, you are with your beautiful wife, Mary .Now from here you are looking after your son, Dale and all your family.

We used to be Eric carers. We were fortunate enough to have been a part of his life. Eric was more then just a person we looked after. We will always remember how happy he was to see us every time we used to visit him. Rest in peace, dear Eric.

I was Eric’s key worker at Marwood. He was my friend and I miss him everyday. I got the honour to know a true gent and to take his photo a few times to capture that smile of his. He will be missed. - Josh R
