ShirleyMARSDENIt is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Marsden announce her peaceful passing on the morning of February 10, with her loving family surrounding her. Shirley will be deeply missed by her two sons, Roger and Mark, her two grandchildren Isabella and Toby and her brothers David and Gordon. Shirley’s nieces and nephew, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law and many other family members will deeply mourn her passing. Shirley loved to bake and always had cake available for visitors. She baked Christmas cake for family members each year which lasted the rest of the year. Shirley passed on this love to her granddaughter, the two would bake often together. Shirley leaves many friends, she was a long time committee member of the Peter Pan Club where she developed deep friendships with other parents and carers of Down Syndrome adults and adults with differing disabilities. A service will be held at Accrington Crematorium, Accrington Cemetery, Burnley Road, Accrington, BB5 6HA, on Monday, February 27 at 11am. With a wake to be held after at Masonic Hall, The Mill House Venue Corn Mill Yard, Whaley Rd, Clayton-le-Moors, BB5 5HX. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to Cancer Research UK.
