Rest easy, Harry. ❤️🕊️
We grew up together in Castle Gresley, spending countless hours with the rest of the Castle Boys. Playing football on the rec, building dens, riding our bikes and disappearing for the entire day. Back when the estate was full of kids out playing and our parents hadn’t got a clue where we were. No phones, no tracking us down, no checking in — just a quick appearance at home when we were hungry, then straight back out again. Looking back, it’s a wonder any of us made it home for tea! 😂
I’ll always remember the games of heads and volleys and the red ass we handed out most days during the six-week summer holidays. Although, thinking about it, you never did seem to get a red ass yourself, did you, mate? 😂 The moment you lost your final life, you’d suddenly remember it was “dinner time” and disappear back to your mam’s! 🤣
As we got older, life took us in different directions. We grew apart as we stepped into adulthood and built our own lives and careers, but that will never take away the memories we made growing up. Those childhood days will always be a part of me, and I’ll always be grateful you were a part of them.
Even though we weren’t as close as we once were, hearing the sad news knocked me for six. It’s a reminder of just how precious life is and how much we should cherish the people and memories we have.
I’m sure there’s a hole left behind that will never truly be filled, especially for your family, who you meant so much to. My heart goes out to them all.
No more demons to fight, brother. I hope you’ve finally found the peace you deserve. ❤️
I’ll see you on the 30th for one last ride, mate. Until then, rest easy. One day, when it’s my time to cross those golden gates, we’ll share a beer on the other side and have a proper catch-up.
Thank you for the memories and the laughs. You’ll always be remembered, Harry.
God bless, brother. Until we meet again. 🕊️
