Angela Matera (nee Hann) on 25th November, aged 68, following a short illness.

Beloved wife of Miguel, loving mother to Sophie, dearest daughter of the late Terry and Sylvia, sister to Martin, sister-in-law to Karen, aunt to Julia and Maddie and great-aunt to Amelia.

Angie made her home in Florida where her passion for teaching the English language touched the lives of so many students from all corners of the world. She will be fondly remembered.

A celebration of Angie’s life will be held on Thursday, 5th December at her home in Miami. Friends are encouraged to raise a glass or a prayer in tribute on that day.

So very sad to hear this news. We were at Old Clee School together but went our separate ways in the move to secondary school and lost touch - the only girl to come to my 11th birthday party. My sincere condolences to all Angie's family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Angela and went through primary and high school together and we certainly had some adventures! She was a force of nature, hugely talented, vibrant and at times completely bonkers. I was privileged to have known her and been a friend. Looking at the photos on her Facebook page I have no doubt you will recognise her from this picture taken in 1970. RIP Angela we are poorer for your passing.
