MaryMATSONIt is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Mary Matson of Macclesfield, who died peacefully at home on Saturday, 2nd July 2022, aged 97 years. She will be deeply missed by her Brother Peter, Sister Nora, Nephews, Nieces and by all who knew her. Requiem Mass will be offered at 1.00 p.m. on Wednesday, 27th July at St Edward The Confessor Catholic Church followed by a Service of Committal at 2.45 p.m. at Macclesfield Crematorium. Everyone is welcome to attend the Committal and afterwards for refreshments which will be served at St Alban's Parish Hall from 3.15 p.m. Family flowers only by request, but donations may be made, if so desired, in favour of the British Heart Foundation or the East Cheshire Hospice. The family would like to thank the Police and Ambulance services, Mary's Neighbours for their friendship and support and all at Andrew Smith Funeral Services for their ongoing support and guidance at this difficult time. As was mentioned by Mary’s sister during her address at yesterday’s funeral, Miss Matson was a true legend. She was my Infant and Junior teacher at St Edwards, and a firm friend to my mother. She leaves a legacy of a fulfilling life. Rest in peace. X

Such a lovely teacher
. Remember her with a guitar and singing nursery rhymes at the end of the day . I was in her class in 1970
