TrevorMCCABEHis children and grandchildren sadly announce the death of the Venerable John Trevor McCabe on 23rd December 2022, aged 89. Born in Falmouth 26th January 1933, Trevor was an important part of the Church and local community. He studied History at the University of Nottingham and and was keenly interested in local history, wherever he lived. Having been Curate in Emmanuel Plymouth and in Exeter, and Vicar at Capel, Guildford, he became Chaplain of the Isles of Scilly. After a brief spell as Canon of Bristol Cathedral he was Rector of Manaccan, St Martin and St Anthony in Meneage. He ended his full time ministry as Archdeacon of Cornwall. He was involved in health provision in the region as Chair of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Learning Disabilities NHS Trust (Tre-Care) and founding Chair of Isles of Scilly Community Healthcare Council. He and his wife Mary were married over 50 years, having met at the church youth group in Budock. They were both deeply involved in and supportive of the institutions of their local communities. The funeral at 11a.m. on 10th January 2023 is at St Budock Parish Church, and refreshments afterwards at Budock Village Hall. Any donations to St Budock Church would be greatly appreciated.
