The obituary notice of Denis MCCARTHY

It is said the society grows great when old men plant trees the shade of they will never sit in.
Mr McCarthy was out teacher at St. Thomas's of Canterbury on 1978.
It was his kindness, and love of sport that I remember him most. From football, athletics at Bannisters, and cricket, Mr McCarthy taught us, guided us and most importantly to love sport.
It is something that continues strongly in my life and my children's.
You planted many trees Mr McCarthy, and have earned your rest
From Nigel,Roger, Natasha and Churaman family.

Mac, as I always knew him, a fellow colleague at St Thomas of Canterbury at Merrow, was a wise and enigmatic friend, a very private man, much loved by those he worked with and his pupils. Christine and I remember you with great affection and love. Rest in peace, dear soul. Martin 03/03/2025

RIP Denis

Denis was a wonderful Cousin. Our Mothers were two of Eight sisters and two Brothers from Glenbeigh in County Kerry, Ireland. A quiet and well educated Man who, as a teacher in the Catholic School in Merrow, taught my two Daughters. Denis you will be greatly missed. Cousin Noel x
