JamesMCCHESNEYMr James ‘Jim’ McChesney, of Taylor Avenue, Waterfoot, died at home on Saturday, April 30, aged 89. James served in the Royal Military Police from 1951-1953, then Ayrshire Police from 1953-1966, then moved to Rossendale and worked for Ben Barnes as a long distance lorry driver until retirement. He loved collecting miniature whiskeys, and was a member of Ramsbottom Royal British Legion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, Scots Guards, and Burnley Stroke Club. Husband of the late Janet, he leaves children Senga, Lynne, and James, son-in-law Chris, daughter-in-law Meghan, grandchildren David, Karl, Connor, Elysia, Emeli, and Isla, great grandchildren Alexa and Scarlett, and brother David. The funeral will be held on Monday, May 16, at 11am at St Anne’s Church, Edgeside, followed by interment at Rawtenstall Cemetery at 12 noon, led by Rev Rod Bevan and Rev Sheila Lynch.
