PeterMCCORMICKMr Peter McCormick, of Newchurch, Rossendale, formerly of Grime Bridge Farm, Lumb, passed peacefully at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Friday, October 29, aged 87. After fulfilling his ambition of farming for 28 years, Peter had retired from his work as a HGV driver. Peter was extremely capable of countless DIY projects, and was also a very talented artist, creating many sketches and paintings. He was an active member of St Peter’s Church community and enjoyed being a big part in all aspects of church life. Peter leaves behind Patricia, his beloved wife of 64 years, and leaves his daughters Anne, Maria, Geraldine, Louise, and his late son Ian. He also leaves his much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, November 12, at 10am at St Peter’s RC Church, led by Rev P Boast. Interment for family. All welcome at St Peter’s Church Hall. Donations if desired to CAFOD and the Stroke Association UK can be made online at www. fredhamer.co.uk. Funeral director: Fred Hamer Funeral Service.
