Michael Charles MbeMCGINNITY'Mike' Died peacefully at home in Edgbaston on Saturday 9th January, 2016, at the age of 74. Mike is survived by his loving wife Diane, sons Nigel and Julian, daughters-in-law Helen and Lucy and grandchildren Sacha, Oliver, Lia, Sebastian and Henry. Born in Harborne on 11th September, 1941, he spent many years in the shopfitting industry, along with a deep love and involvement in football, culminating in becoming deputy chairman then chairman of Coventry City FC. He was awarded the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honour list 2008 for his voluntary services to the disadvantaged people in the West Midlands. A Requiem Mass will be held at The Oratory of Saint Philip Neri, Hagley Road, Birmingham at 12.30pm on Wednesday 27th January, 2016, followed by a private cremation. All are most welcome to attend and celebrate Mike's life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Thos. Furber & Co. Ltd, 122 Station Road, Harborne B17 9LS. A collection for Make A Wish Foundation will be held on the day.
