GrettaMCGOVERNLoving Mother of Dionne and Sean, much loved Grandmother to Tom, Hannah, Amber, Maddy and Grace, passed away peacefully on Monday 16th January 2023 aged 86. Reunited once more with her beloved husband Tom, her parents Margaret and James, sister Dollie and brother Mick and twin brother James. Gretta will be missed by many, including those who knew her in Coventry where she settled from Ireland and where she dedicated over 40 years’ service as a community midwife. The funeral mass for Gretta will take place on Friday 10th February 2023 at 10am at St Albans and St Stephens’ Church AL1 3RB (www.albanstephen.org) followed by burial in St Albans. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Gretta may be made to Maternity Worldwide (a charity supporting access to quality maternal healthcare) at www.maternityworldwide.org Enquiries to Phillips Funeral Services St Albans AL1 3BL Tel 01727 532991

Gretta was one of those special gems, who if you had the good fortune to meet, enriched your life - pouring love, wisdom and a font of knowledge into the world.
She has touched the lives of countless people and her legacy will live on for generations.
A heart felt thank you Gretta, you will be missed.

To my 'Aunty' Gretta - whilst new to District Duty delivered the 'Surprise Twin'. Remembered for assisting me remove 7 stitches in my top lip, the scar has faded - many fond memories have not. Such a compassionate Lady. Rest In Peace.
